Eiffel Tower in Las Vegas

A purse shaped like this? Read on.

Designer Timmy Woods is having a huge kick off to his career in handbags. With the recent release of Sex and the City: The Movie’s trailers and posters, viewers couldn’t help notice Carrie’s soaring Eiffel Tower Purse. Yes, its shape resembles that of the Eiffel Tower, taking a leap and stirring women to get out of their handbag-style-comfort-zone. Since the photo of Carrie holding the Eiffel Tower was made public, the Beverly Hills based designer has already sold around 150 pieces of the bags studded with Swarovski crystals priced at $3000 each. A mass version of it sold 1,000 pieces without the Swarovski crystals at $450.

As fashion editor Samantha Durbin quotes, “Carrie can get away with carrying a funky little bag like that. Its cinematic. Everyone dreams of Paris. It kind of has a romantic feel to it.”

The acacia wood made purse was primarily created four years ago as a “valentine” to designer Wood’s embraced city. The Eiffel Tower purse sits along with a horse head shaped purse, a telephone, a studded pink shoe shaped bag and so on. Timmy Woods definitely have a knack on creating bizarre yet funky purses.

With the phenomenal response of consumers to the monumental purse, it only goes to show that Sex and the City still got the juice to jump start fashion trends. If we recall, the same show is responsible for the nameplate necklaces and flower pins.

Join the bandwagon and purchase online or view them in person the Bowery, New York or L.A. stores.
