Donna Karan’s Pre Fall Collection of handbags for this year ranges from hand-stitched totes to hobos, crocskin, ostrich to goatskins, plus a modest collection of evening bags made of python and satin. The theme seems to depict an all out classic and minimalist design yet stands out amongst its crowd.
A classy rugged must have that’s safe enough to sport with almost any outfit any day, any season. Take it from the designer herself as she reveals some trivia in an interview for Elle Magazine.
“I’m a serial monogamist. I wear one (bag) to death before moving on the the next one – I carry far too much in it to change bags according to outfit”
This tad bit of fact hence shows in her collections as they all are tailored for comfort and timeless purposes, which at the same time are fashion forward pieces. Ah the brilliance of DK!
As every handbag is a sure hit, my personal favorite is the Modern Leo Large Tote. A sturdy, rugged style in shrunken lambskin accentuated with a signature ‘rock’ pendant. Toughen up a classic day this fall with an ultra functional handbag with an attitude! This black leather tote has double shoulder handles with a 7” drop, leather lining, a self fastening tie for closure, an inside zip pocket, a PDA and a cell phone pocket. Its dimensions are 15”W x 12 1/4”H x 5”D and retails at $1895.
