Fendi’s Spring/Summer 2008 Collection boast of bright colors, ethnic and earth colors, elegance to preppy, clutches and minis to totes and hobos. Karl Lagerfeld captures the model Raquel Zimmerman’s powerful beauty in the Fendi Spring/Summer 2008 Ad campaign.

As everybody seem to have a little adoration for Fendi, let’s take a look at its history and profile. Fendi, as we all know is one of the most prevalent labels in the fashion industry. Newlyweds Eduardo and Adele Fendi started from humble beginnings back in 1925, opening a small fur and leather goods store in Rome. Since then, the name Fendi has slowly achieved the reputation for luxurious items and good taste. By 1946, the eldest child of the couple, Paula, started to work at the company and was eventually followed by her four other sisters Carla, Anna, Franca and Alda.

By 1965, Fendi merged with well known designer and “soon to be icon” Karl Lagerfeld. The marriage between the two has been mutually fruitful. The designer created the logo FF that is now a known international status symbol. Of what was once known as the company specializing in heavy wear such as fur and leather, Fendi transformed into a versatile fashion firm, designing trends that are easy to wear, soft and light.

1969 marked Fendi’s first ready to wear collection at the Palazzo Pitti in Florence, Italy. The company is dedicated to bringing in designer clothes to accessories of high quality and fashion. Karl eventually left the company to become the chief designer of another new label set to be released at the time — Chanel. After his departure, Fendi continued its reign in the fashion industry.

  1. Have you heard about the newest lawsuit against eBay? Hermes accused eBay of selling counterfeit goods and won their case in a French court, making eBay liable for their damages - anyway, with eBay having more and more lawsuits brought against them, I found this great site - http://www.portero.com/ - they are one of the only online auction market places that authenticates branded luxury products (like vintage chanel, tons of birkins, and other great accessories!). I think Portero will definitely set a new standard for online luxury auctions - they really seem to take great measures to ensure their customers are getting products that are high quality…and authentic! i already bought a really cute pair of tods loafers there and will def be back to the site
